Better Health at Work Award

GAS recognised for Maintaining Excellence Wellbeing Award

Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) has been awarded Maintaining Excellence for the second year running, by the Better Health at Work Award scheme, highlighting its continued commitment to staff wellbeing.

The Award Scheme recognises employers in the North East who prioritise health and wellbeing in the workplace.

The award is the fifth and highest level available after previously achieving Bronze, Silver, Gold and Continuing Excellence.

John Bowes, UPC Wellbeing Coach said: “Educating people is something we’re really passionate about at UPC and this is something we’ve been working on with colleagues at GAS.

“We like to provide health and wellbeing information to colleagues through themed campaigns which often link with big events throughout the year, such as On Your Feet Britain.

“A key campaign we recently ran with GAS colleagues was First Steps to Fitness where we focused on health education via weekly drop in sessions and a support WhatsApp group.

“We’re based onsite at GAS and are available everyday for colleagues to request dietary checks, blood pressure tests, 1-1 support and general advice.

“It’s fantastic to see how GAS has a genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of their colleagues and this award is well deserved.”
