Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) is pleased to announce it will be supporting the 10th anniversary Lumiere Festival in Durham as official energy partner.
Organised by Artichoke, Lumiere is the UK’s largest light festival and has been transforming cities across the UK since 2009. Each Lumiere festival invites local and international artists to create works that reimagine buildings and public spaces, changing the way we experience our environment and the dark, winter nights. In 2017, the festival attracted almost a quarter of a million visitors.
Phil Andrew, Associate Customer Experience Director at GAS, felt supporting the festival was the next logical step in the firm’s long-term commitment to the region: “We’re immensely proud to sponsor this year’s Lumiere festival. It’s one of the most innovative and exciting events throughout not only Durham, but the whole of the UK.
“At GAS, our Corporate Social Responsibility mission is clear: To make a significant difference to the local community. As a County Durham business at heart, our aim is to make a positive impact to people by delivering economic and social benefits wherever we can.
“The ethos of our two organisations are very much aligned, placing huge importance on contributing value to the community and the economy.”
“Through our partnership with Lumiere Durham, we feel we can help to transform the streets of Durham by bringing some of the world’s leading artists to the city and give people of all ages the chance to take part in extraordinary community and education projects.”
Taking place between the 14-17 November 2019, the festival is free to all visitors. To find out more, please visit the official Durham Lumiere website.
